Great result for Grainne's Fun Run

Something around 240 people turned out for Grainne McGrath's 5K Fun Run/Walk today in aid of Halverstown NS and St Anne's School on the Curragh, writes Brian Byrne.

That result pretty well flabbergasted everybody among the organisers, as only around 55 had registered online by yesterday. They really shouldn't have been surprised, because an awful lot of people have been seen running around Kilcullen in the dark of the evenings over the last couple of months ...

Anyhow, the Diary is hoping to get some full results from Grainne and friends in the next couple of days, but in the meantime there's a full set of pictures here.

ED NOTE: Because the Kilcullen Canoe Club Slalom was on at the same time, the Diary had to oscillate between the two events, which is why there are no pics from 'on the run'. But be sure that I probably travelled more than the 5K during the afternoon while covering both!
