Bake Sale this morning

A Bake Sale and Raffle in Kilcullen this morning is aimed at raising funds to help a local Malaysian woman and her family to get home to see her dad, writes Brian Byrne.

Friends and neighbours of Maeve O'Reilly are rallying to help out Maeve's friend Eda, and there will be delicious home baked treats and the chance to win one of many raffle prizes.

The cakes and other goodies will be sold in the vacant shop beside the Vincent's shop, starting at 10am.

The raffle prizes include a 3-month gym membership for the Osprey Hotel; a voucher for a Rasul Mud Bath for two people at the Osprey Spa; a handmade Tea Cosie from Benóg Handmade Crafts; a Mini Photo Session and Print from Saol Nua Photography; a voucher for a Wash, Cut and Blowdry at The Hair Emporium; a Pixy Gift Set from Berneys Chemist; lunch for two at the River Cafe; a voucher for two hours' house cleaning from 'Done and Dusted'; a Kilcullen Mom's Bourguignon pour six; a Gift Set from Burkes Pharmacy; a voucher for a file and paint at The Powder Room; and a bottle of Wine from Eurospar.

The event is scheduled to end at 2pm, but the best of the fare is likely to sell out long before that.
