Jimmy recording song to fight cancer

Kilcullen's Jimmy Aspell is recording a CD single which will be sold in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, writes Brian Byrne.

The song, 'When it Snows in New Orleans', is written by Newbridge-based singer-songwriter Tony Kirwan.

Known and loved across Kildare for his own music and for his dedication to fundraising for the ICS, Jimmy will be recording the song next week, and it will be launched in The Spout on 3 December.

On the same night a cheque for €5,285 will be presented to the ICS, the proceeds of the Shave or Dye night with Brush Shiels and Jimmy at the end of September.

Mark it in your diary, things will kick off early at 7pm.
