Birthday celebrations at Bridge Community

BridgeCamphillBirthday

Bridge Community's Big DayA very happy birthday today to the Bridge Camphill Community, as today is the actual anniversary of the Community's establishment in Kilcullen, writes Brian Byrne.

Since Tuesday many of the former co-workers have been arriving for the 21st birthday reunion, and they have been taking part in a number of activities on the campus.

These included working on a number of projects, like a new mosiac for the end wall of the community hall, and digging out an ornamental pond near the Nature Trail.

Last night there was a showing of many hundreds of photographs and some video which recalled many memories of people and events across the more than two decades. A display of photographs has also been set up in an activities room near the hall.

And tonight there's a special birthday celebration in the hall, following a barbecue (weather permitting) at 6pm. At 8pm the Community's choir, dramatists and orchestra will present a kaleidoscope of entertainment, and then candles will be lit for each year.

"It will be a night for sharing memories and milestones," says the Community's Mischa Fekete.

Memories and milestones which have had a significant impact on the wider Kilcullen community, in the best possible way.
