Educational interests to be invited to tender for Brannoxtown NS

The official opening of the new school building in 2013.
An invitation is to be issued by the Patron of Brannockstown NS to other educational interests to tender for the operation of the School, writes Brian Byrne.

This follows news of the official closure of the School by the Archbishop of Dublin, which has resulted in teaching staff being redeployed and ancillary staff being made redundant.

Groups such as Educate Together and Gaelscoil operators will be asked to look at the possibilities of running Brannoxtown NS, and if such an initiative is agreed, then the Patron will divest the school to that group.

According to a spokesman for Save Our School Brannoxtown (SOSB), a public meeting will be held in the area shortly to update the village.
